Individual Therapy
I have a passion for helping individuals develop greater self-awareness through deep introspection and self-reflection. I invite clients to study their own patterns and reactions, and shift the focus from what others are doing (or not doing) to what is within your control and power to change…your own behavior. Stepping back and re-examining your role promotes empowerment rather than the exasperation and frustration that comes from ineffective or misguided “solutions”. Often, these solutions fail because we lack insight or a more complete perspective of the problem. With deeper insight comes clarity and creativity for approaching these issues in new and more effective ways.

I will help you manage intense emotions (such as anxiety and distress) by examining core beliefs and negative or irrational thought patterns.  Learning to sit in your discomfort and choose an intentional response to stressful situations will open new doors. Freedom comes from getting to know oneself on a very deep level and understanding what provokes or triggers you and how we can create change simply by seeing the processes and patterns around us.
Couples Therapy & Marriage Counseling
I combine the most effective approaches to helping couples improve their relationship. The work that I do is informed by the RLT method (Relational Life Therapy by Terry Real), and is a form of therapy that aims to help couples resolve conflicts, develop personal accountability, improve communication, and foster intimacy within their relationship. Conflict in marriage and romantic relationships is inevitable, but it's how you show up that makes the difference.

I focus on the process, rather than the content of what you're discussing. I can help you and your partner understand how you feed off one another and stop engaging in negative patterns that erode the quality of the relationship.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT has been heavily researched and proven to be highly effective in treating a wide-range of problems, including anxiety and panic disorders, depression, OCD, and many more. In this approach, since thoughts drive our emotions and behaviors. As a certified CBT therapist,  I will help you identify distorted or negative thought patterns that are causing distressing emotions and impacting your decisions. You will learn helpful skills in identifying unhelpful thoughts and learn to replace them with more balanced and rational thoughts and experience significant relief in feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, and stuck.
Family Therapy
I am informed by Bowen Family Systems and use this model to help individuals and families understand dysfunctional patterns from their families of origin. We often replicate themes and experiences that were modeled for us as we were trained. Things like cut off, triangulation, damage our relationships with people we love and leave us feeling unfulfilled and unsupported. I can help you identify unhealthy elements within your most important relationships and transform these relationships that prioritize clear communication, appropriate boundaries, high levels of mutual support, and more.
